Now, they have brought the very same performance to the Windows Phone platform with Nokia Lumia 920. The Nokia Lumia 920 features an 8.7 Megapixel Camera along with Carl Zeiss optics that can take stunning images. It also has an 1.3 Megapixel wide angle front camera for video calls. Best Smartphone on The Market - Mobile Device Comparison and Review

When it comes to the best Smartphone on the market based on the number of users and market share, Android based Smartphones and the iOS platform of iPhones are among the leading contenders. However, Android based Smartphones are gradually catching pace with iPhones and there are even Android models that offer more advanced features in other areas where the iOS platform has been the leading pace setter. This growing trend is significant for the long-term viability of new application firms and freelance app developers, whether to go for Android app development or ride the iPhones bandwagon. However, everything will remain monopolized by this company and Android app development will not cut a sizeable chunk off the iPhones app development share.
Growing Market Share
Even if Android phones begin to get a firm foothold in the market one year after the release of iPhones, the Google powered phone actually experienced a significant acceleration in sales which eventually expanded the market for Smartphones. Smartphones using the Android platform offer a brand new market regardless of the continuously increasing network restrictions. At least fifty percent of Android users have their present Android phone as their first experience of using a Smartphone and becoming part of the Smartphone market. Since majority of Android phone users is young (60% are under 34 years old while 30% are between 35 and 49 years old), there will be a significant change on how Smartphone's will be marketed in the next few years.
Android did a good job of integrating its entire web - based applications including maps, docs, Google+, and Gmail among others. However, with the introduction of the new iOS 5 in the market, Android needs to step up its operating system in order for it to keep up its competitiveness among smartphone users and mobile phone technology in general. In line with the growing development in the Android apps industry, the much-anticipated release of Android's Ice Cream Sandwich before the end of this month or early in November is believed to give a new edge for Google powered phones in this ever continuing war on who is the best Smartphone on the market. Even with the iOS 5 out on the market, Google will not sit in the sidelines and watch iPhone take over the market of Smartphone's once again.
With Android based Smartphones pushing forward supported by an all in one operating system, this is definitely a shoo-in among smartphone users who may want to have the portability of mobile phones with the fantastic features and applications of an Android tablet. And while the iPhone may have the leading advantage when it comes to the number of apps in the market compared to Android apps, still the market is now positioned to experience significant growth within the next few years.

Samsung Galaxy S4 - An Innovation in Interactivity

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the latest Smartphone offering from Samsung, and it's a real tour de force with a brilliant choice of features and technological innovations that make this phone stand out from the crowd. You'll immediately note that the Galaxy S4 is the same size and heft as its predecessor model, yet has somehow managed to lever in a range of improvements into the same compact amount of space.
There's no doubt about it - the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a real top-end piece of equipment. The increased 1080p HD resolution gives it a startling level of visual quality that makes using it a real joy, expressing more colour and clarity than earlier models. This phone is also a serious step forwards in the overall sensitivity and interactivity of Smartphone screens. It's sensitive enough that you can easily use it even when wearing gloves (handy when it's cold out) but the Galaxy S4 goes so much further than that.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 offers a myriad of innovations that really open up its use as a hands-free phone. On the one hand, the S4 features eye-tracking technology that it harnesses to make interacting with your Smartphone a much more intelligent experience - the phone can tell whether or not you're actually looking at whatever it's displaying on the screen. This means that it can save power if you've put it away and are no longer looking at it; and if you're watching a video, the phone can cleverly pause it when you're looking away or distracted, starting it up again when you look back. The technology involved even lets you scroll just by tilting the screen. On the other hand, the S4 can effectively track your gestures and movements from a short distance away from its touchscreen, allowing you to interact with it without having to actually make contact. This allows it to notice and interpret your movements when you wave your hand across the screen, making it ideal for environments where you don't have the time or free hands to muddle about poking a Smartphone.
Like many of this new cutting-edge generation of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is ready for the 4G roll-out, an advent of network technology that you're going to want to take advantage of. 4G is vastly faster than 3G when it comes to downloading and streaming content, which combines with the HD screen to make a great experience viewing videos on your phone. It works both ways too - want to share content and photos yourself? 4G will make the experience far more swift and pleasant. 4G connectivity is rapidly rolling out across network providers, so get in the lead with the S4 and experience the best content the world has to offer at amazing speeds.
All this comes with the usual improvements you expect from a new phone design - a larger battery offering longer life, an improved camera now offering 13 megapixel of resolution, and other great features like the Group Play utility that lets you share your music and content with friends in a quick and easy way.
The whole package of the S4 Smartphone from Galaxy line is a clear improvement on the S3 and an excellent contender for innovation in the Smartphone market. Change Your Life With Samsung Galaxy Note 3 And Galaxy Gear

Samsung has introduced two revolutionary devices i.e. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear to its valuable users. These two extra-ordinary gadgets guarantee you for power and performance. It means that if you've these two significant devices, you can make your everyday life easy and comfortable.
As per the industry experts, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the best Android smartphone in the world. Moreover, at a whopping about 6" long, this device is really larger than some oversized handsets such as Droid Maxx and HTC One. However, it doesn't mean that it looks oversized. This device can be easily fit into your back-pocket. Besides, its huge size, watching movies and playing games on its wide 5.7" display offers you fantastic viewing experience.
This smartphone never looks or feels clunky and odd when in hand. You might not have liked the plastic appearance of "Samsung Galaxy S4" but with faux-leather back, Galaxy Note 3 appears very graceful device and a desirable choice for you.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is prominent for having tremendous features. The device contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon Chip that clocked at 2.3GHz, and moreover, baked with a massive 3 GB of RAM. It runs on Android Jelly Bean operating system, which is a bit disappointing as there are some handsets available that runs on KitKat. Its powerful processor allows you run various functions and apps simultaneously. Note 3 device is also considered as a gaming machine since it comprises on-screen controls for better management. This incredible device is embedded with a 13 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel of front-facing camera. Hence, you can easily create videos of your favorite subjects with this device. Its secondary camera can be used for making video calls.
The most significant advancement that we have noticed in Note 3 is its S-Pen feature. This revolutionary feature allows you writing various notes at any point of time as per your requirements. The S-Pen can be found in an unnoticeable slot. By using S Pen, you can use its Action Memo feature. In our test, we have observed that using S-Pen is really easy and fast.
Apart from aforesaid advantages, the Note 3 has a drawback - its user interface. When we compare its user interface with other devices, we have noticed that it could've been improved a bit more. However, there are some positive points about this device too that help boosting overall productivity of the device. You can easily operate your television by using its WatchON app. Texting becomes very easy since Note 3 comes incorporated with an advanced "onscreen keyboard". While analyzing its drop down menu, we have found it a bit overcrowded. For instance, in case of using WatchON, you'll encounter with various apps so that you may probably lose the track where you should go. The most interesting and user friendly feature of Note 3 is its "Air Gestures" feature that enables you command the device even without touching it. The device also holds an eye-tracking feature just like Samsung Galaxy S4.
Now come to Galaxy Gear. Some people may be doubtful about having a Galaxy Gear. They may argue, what's the need of paying extra for such device. However, Galaxy Gear is especially designed for those individuals who are considered as ultra-modern or gadget geek. You can connect you Galaxy Gear SmartWatch to your Galaxy Note 3 via Bluetooth. You can do lots of things by using your "Galaxy Gear SmartWatch" such as capturing images, checking text or mails, making and receiving calls. However, for having such incredible device, you need to pay extra for it.
In short, if you are big fan of James bond movies then you need to go with Galaxy Gear SmartWatch as it gives you that kind of feeling when on your wrist.

Before You Buy Cell Phone Plans - Tips On How To Compare Cell Phone Carrier Plans

If you are in the market to buy cell phone plans, I would suggest doing your due diligence and compare cell phone carrier plans before you commit to a wireless service provider. There are quite a few companies out there who claim to offer unlimited talk, text, and data, however sometimes you really need to read between the lines. Not all plans are created equal, and some wireless companies like to try and fool the consumer by not disclosing the full truth about their plans up front.
Here are the top 3 questions to ask when you compare cell phone carrier plans:
1. Will the plan put you under contract or is there no contract? This question is very important when considering individual situations and circumstances. If you make a mistake and sign a 2 year contract, you are going to be stuck with that plan for quite a long time. Contract cancellation fees are no fun. If you have any foreseeable circumstances that might compel you to stop paying your bill, a contract might not be the best choice. There are many cell phone service providers that offer plans with no contract, and I believe that they are a better choice because they allow you the flexibility to pay as you go. You can stop service any time that you want, and there will be no monetary repercussions.
2. Do you require a new phone? Some people like to buy into plans just because they need a new basic phone or smart phone. Typically when a cell phone company offers a free phone in conjunction with a contracted plan, the phone appears to be free up front, but you will actually end up paying for the phone through a higher bill over time. This is referred to as subsidization, and the phone companies do this all the time. If you do not need a new phone, there are many no contract cellular companies that will allow you to bring your own device to their network so that you do not have to invoke a new lengthy contract. These types of plans are usually much cheaper.
3. Does the plan fit your lifestyle and your budget? Many people are enticed into expensive plans because they want to get the best technology right now, and they are willing to overlook price and functionality to get it. Everyone uses their wireless cell phones differently, ranging from just straight talk, to talk and text, to talk, text, and data. Find out how much you are really using your cell phone and judge from there how much of a plan you need to buy. If you are only using your phone to talk to your close family and nothing else, it doesn't make sense to pay for fully unlimited talk, text, and data. Find out how much you can spend when you buy cell phone plans, and tailor the plan to meet your budget and your lifestyle.
Everyone has different needs and wants when it comes time to buy cell phone plans, therefore there are probably many different questions to be asked. However, I believe that the previous top 3 questions, which compare cell phone carrier plans, are integral in making sure that you find the right plan. There are many companies out there who are willing to take advantage of the uninformed consumer, and make them pay hand over fist for a cell phone plan that they do not necessarily need or want. I would hope that after taking a look at this information that you will be a little bit better informed and have more confidence when it comes time to purchase.

Battery Tips for Your IOS7

"Curse you iOS7!" as my fumble hands seek for an outlet to resuscitate my iPhone5. This post may be a little dated. I have purposely waited. I was hoping a new update, tip, SOMETHING would solve the short lifespan of my battery. I am working on acceptance that ever since Steve Jobs passed away (RIP my genius) Apple went to hell in a hand basket (something my mother would say). However, I can be quiet no longer. I have tried every "tip" out there, only to be stuck, usually in the middle of nowhere (which is anywhere without an outlet) with no battery, no phone, no lifeline. This post of rage will go over the obvious battery saving features, in case you have not tried them. I, for one, have not found these to be the answer. But we all must start somewhere, so here it goes.
1. Do Less-Battery-Intensive Things
Really? Yes this is one of the suggestions touted by tech writers everywhere. Why even have an iPhone? But, if you limit talking time on the phone (not cool), movies, games and web browsing, it will help. in addition, limit battery -intensive apps (more on the worse apps for battery life later this week).
2. Turn off Equalizer
In case you failed to notice, the music app has an equalizer which will adjust bass, treble, etc. By turning this off, your music experience may suffer, but you will save battery life. When I first read this I thought "no way"! Then I went to check my settings. I didn't have it on anyway, so there ya go!
Find it in Settings -> Music -> EQ -> Tap off
3. Turn Bluetooth Off
We love our bluetooth, especially when driving, but it is a battery drainer. Turn off Bluetooth except when you're using it, this will help extend battery life.
Find it in Settings -> Bluetooth -> Move Slider to Off
4. Turn Off 4G/LTE
How happy were we when we heard LTE was coming? Needless to say, all good deeds do not go unpunished. Not surprisingly, using 4G LTE, requires more battery life. I know this is a difficult, but if use 3G ( you know what we could not wait to get away from) it will help your battery life. Even downsizing from LTE to 4G will help. Of course you will need your battery since everything takes twice as long.
Find it in Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Slide Enable LTE to Off on the iPhone 5 or newer.
5. Keep Wi-Fi Off
Wi-Fi is another type of high-speed network that your iPhone can connect to. It is faster than 3G but you are limited to where there is a hotspot. As with the bluetooth, keeping the Wi-Fi on with the hopes of finding a hotspot will drain your battery. Have it on only when you are using it. Just don't forget, or your data plan will skyrocket.
Find it in Settings -> WiFi -> Slide to Off
6. Turn Off Location Services
A very nice feature of the iOS7 is a built-in Gps. But of course, it drains the battery. Shutting it off can be a hassle when you need it quickly, but, it will save battery life.
Find it in Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Slide to Off
7. Prevent auto update of Apps.
iOS7 will automatically update your apps for you. This is a great feature that will lessen battery life. Yep, do it manually.
Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Updates -> move slider to off/white
8. Turn Data Push Off
Sorry, no more convenience of having everything there for you when you pick up your phone. Reduce how often your phone connects to the network to save your battery.
Find it in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Fetch New Data -> Slide to Off
9. Fetch Email Less Often
This is related to the above tip. Once your data push is set to off, limit your obsessive checking of email. ( I am referring to myself here).
I know, I know--why have a smartphone if we have to limit our compulsion to check email. I agree.
Find it in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Fetch New Data -> Select Your Preference
10. Turn on Auto-Brightness
Find it in the Settings app -> Brightness & Wallpaper -> Auto-Brightness On.
11. Reduce Screen Brightness
Taking it a step further you can control how bright the screen will go with this slider. Of course, the less bright the less drain. Sigh, now where is my flashlight when I need it.
12. Stop Motion
iOS7 has an interesting feature creating a parallax effect. It is very subtle. If you look at your apps when moving your iPhone, they will appear to move separate from each other, as if on different planes. Of course this feature takes from your battery life.
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion -> move slider to green/on
13. No more Dynamic Backgrounds
Another neat feature introduced in iOS 7 is wallpaper that moves underneath your app icons. It is located in the Wallpapers & Backgrounds menu. No need to change it unless you added the dynamic background. The default is off. Find it in the Settings app -> Brightness & Wallpaper
10. Prevent Background App Refresh (iOS 7)
Although I appreciate iOS7 refreshing my apps when needed, it also sucks your battery! So, although nice to have it is best to turn it off.
Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh -> Either disable the Background app totally or just for certain apps.
11. Quicker Auto-Lock
Time for sleep baby: naptime can come quicker for you iPhone, which will help battery life. This just hurts me to wait an extra second. But, I hate the dead battery blues.
Find it in Settings -> General -> Auto-Lock -> Tap your Preference
12. Buy an Extended Life Battery
If all else fails, just get more battery. A few accessory makers like mophie and Kensington offer extended life batteries for the iPhone.
I may be taking the last suggestion. I feel as in if I have tried everything and my iPhone is becoming unreliable. I have invested in many new chargers; never travel to non-outlet areas, (you would be amazed at what I will do to find an outlet and to what length), yet still I find myself without my phone. I have another tip, maybe another phone! But I do like apple products... or used to.
P.S. I have been punished for his post- now my camera isn't working!! Curse you again iOS7!!!!!

It's this camera that has won the Nokia Lumia 1020 international recognition, including featuring in Time Magazine's 'Top 10 of Everything 2013' list. Just picking the Nokia Lumia 1020 up and examining its physical design confirms this; from the front, it really does look like a proper camera, not like a small camera lens tacked on to a Smartphone.
The truth is, you'd be hard pressed to get a better photographic device that also provides you with all the features you've come to expect from a Smartphone. The Nokia Lumia 1020 has an astounding 41 megapixel camera built into it, hugely superior to most other smartphones on the market. Backed up by the power of the Windows 8 OS, you'll find yourself snapping great photos in no time.
If you're eagerly awaiting the arrival of 4G connectivity, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is all set and ready for the 4G network. 4G provides speeds that can be several times faster than 3G, letting you stream all your favourite content and browse the Internet at a blisteringly quick rate. All this works in the opposite direction too, of course - with 4G, you'll be more in touch with friends and family than ever before, able to share your pictures and thoughts at the touch of a screen. 4G connectivity will take care of the waiting times and delays that can sometimes go with uploading your content to the rest of the world. Given the sheer photographic power of this phone, you're going to really want that 4G connection - you'll have a lot of great pictures that you're going to want to share with the world.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is backed up with a powerful battery that will give you hours of talk-time, photography and streaming. You're going to need it, because this phone will have you out there snapping photos and marvelling at the power of the camera and digital manipulation technology that comes with it.

Competition is very tough today. It is a lot harder for small businesses as they have to compete with their larger counterparts. However, it is not only the website or social media pages, but mobile technology can also help a small business increase productivity and connect with customers.
Following are some effective ways by which a small business can take advantage of mobile technology:
#1. Going Mobile with Responsive Design
Responsive design techniques help in scaling down a desktop-sized website, and make it fit mobile screens. Responsive design is a very smart move if it is ready to target its mobile customer base as well. And why shouldn't it? Mobile Internet usage will soon take over desktop Internet usage. Only the smart marketers are taking action, and the using responsive design will make it look credible and trustworthy.
#2. Start Creating Mobile Content
Mobile content can come in handy for a small business. Mobile content is extremely effective when used in conventions, sales calls and trade shows. People love reading e-books and flip books, and they can help it increase its conversion rate. These tools help in saving money on printing costs. The efforts put behind creating these tools will only make a small business look knowledge and energetic.
#3. Need For Mobile Apps
One of the major reasons why Smartphones and Tablets are so popular today is because of mobile apps. There are apps that help in reserving tables in restaurants; there are also apps that notify users about road traffic. Mobile apps are of a wide variety; and investing in creating a mobile app is a great strategy if a small business is not working in a tight budget. This mobile app will stay exclusive to it, notifying users about new offers or special discounts from the company. In this way, a mobile app will become useful in retaining the interest of the repeat customers.
#4. Quicker Responses using QR Codes
QR codes are comparatively new in the market, and they are a very hot commodity. Almost every reputed brand is using these matrix bar-codes with the prime goal of engaging customers. So why should a small business stay away from the battle? It does not cost a lot to generate an exclusive QR code. Advertise the QR code by printing it on advertisements and products. Moreover, it must also make sure that people who are scanning these codes get redirected to relevant and functional landing pages.
#5. SMS Campaigns Still Matter

Did Android Applications Development Catch Your Eye?

Gone are those days when one had to keep records as hard copies, consult their secretaries for reminders of events and meetings, resort to official documents to glance over some notes, or wait to get home in order to listen to his favorite music.
With the advent of modern devices like tablets, smartphones and cloud computing, customers now have direct access to applications which satiates their requirements in any field. These applications, although cheap and prim-prom, are extremely powerful. The users cannot only access the applications, but can also develop them on their own. They don't require software experts for applications development or even maintenance. Android applications can be customized with just basic programming knowledge for software development.
Android is basically a mobile operating system developed by Google. Most of the mobile developers prefer Android as a platform since it is ready made, cheap, customizable and light weight for sophisticated high-tech devices. Google Play service is the marketplace where application developers can upload their products and end users can install these applications in their respective devices.
Several devices like Motorola Droid, Samsung Galaxy and Nexus use this operating system because of its attractive and compelling features. The main characteristic of an Android operating system is that its source code is open. This means that developers can modify, update and customize the operating system for each phone.
Android's popularity can be assessed from the fact that 48 billion applications are used from the Google Play store by May, 2013.
For developing Android applications, the programmer uses the Android Software Development Kit (Android SDK) which provides tools for creation, compilation and packaging of the application. The Android SDK has another tool called Android Debug Bridge (ADB), which allows connection to a virtual or real android device meant for managing the device or debugging the application.
As far as power supply to Android devices are concerned, they are usually battery operated. In the desktop operating system, source of power supply is assumed to be unlimited. But in mobiles and other android devices, power requirement is critical and always minimized by managing the memory (RAM). Whenever the applications are not in use, the system automatically suspends these from the memory as suspended applications do not consume power, but the applications remain in 'open' status technically.
Memory management is done automatically by Android devices. In case the device has low memory, it will kill the applications and processes which are lying inactive for long time. Apart from the 512 RAM and a 32-bit ARMv7, MIPS or x*^ architecture processor, Android devices have many optional hardware components, like a camera, GPS, game control, accelerometers, barometers, proximity sensors, pressure sensors, thermometers, touch screens etc.
Therefore, to develop or use highly precise, interactive and easy to use applications, most users prefer Android as a cheaper and effective platform for application development.

Barcode Symbology - 1D Barcode Symbologies

Barcoding has been around a few decades, but first started as a 1D only symbology. Barcoding technology only used a few symbologies in the linear 1D Barcode Symbology space, usually identified as the ladder style barcode technology. These symbologies are sometimes referred to as fonts, but really in 1D they are different lines and white spaces that determine characters. The main symbologies that were used were 128, 3of9, UPC, and Postnet. These are still used today.
Grocery stores and retailers use UPC which uses only numerical characters only,. UPC's main symbology has a defined section for the provider ID on one side, and another for the product ID on the other, as it appears in human readable form. Most grocery items have a UPC for each product, and sometimes more than one barcode ID is required, on the same product line or type. This is necessary when size, color, and other parameters are necessary to identify. Obviously, as with most 1D items when scanned, the system usually looks up the number in a database that is unique to a certain product. The company, product type, sizing, quantity, and price is determined by the scan. UPC has been highly successful, in at least the ability to adjust pricing, and not have to retag items, but mainly in the ability to control inventory and assets. Some of the desired abilities are Inventory control, turns of products, reorders, and so many things that are an easy ROI argument.
Two symbologies in 3of9 and 128 are used mainly in manufacturing, the 3of9 allows for a larger subset of characters including letters and numbers mixed. A lot of manufacturing barcodes utilize at minimum a letter at the first of the barcode. This allows programs to easily determine they are putting data in the right spot, by validating the first letter of the scan. With AIAG Labels in automotive, data is separated by this type of parameter. P is for part, L for lot, Q for quantity and so on where Quantity 32 would be Q32.
Since this is not mean to be a primer on all 1D symbologies, but just an overview I will mention a few of the others. Postnet is used by the postal service, books have an abbreviated UPC type code called EAN, due to size constraints and other needs, and many others exist as well as variations. You will find 3of9 and 128 in stores and places where UPC is expected, but for the most part UPC will be in most retail stores.
1D scanners must be read across horizontally through all the bars to be successful. 1D Symbology barcodes were almost entirely read by laser scanners for years. In the last few years, LED technology has really consumed much of the market once limited to laser scanners, due to cost, speed, and fewer moving parts in the Linear technology. The laser scanner is still used pretty effectively in groceries where orientation or position of the linear 1D is not known. This is especially true in the in-counter scanners where multiple laser orientations are setup in different angles (called rasterizing), so you can get a read in most any orientation. Of course, if any part of the barcode is torn or printed badly it will not read. 2D addresses this issue much better.
In the last few years, 2d barcode symbologies and 3d barcodes symbologies have become available. It seems that 1D Barcodes will survive well into our future, due to the inexpensive cost of implementation, equipment available, and current investment in the technology. RFID is also a future technology to watch for, but again it is expensive to maintain and operate. The ladder style barcode technology, or 1D will be here a while longer. Please do read our other articles on 2D and 3D, and give us a call if we can help you with any needs you might have.

Be Wary Of These Factors While Selecting Mobile Apps!

Feel that the overall speed and performance of your smartphone has nosedived, after you have installed a couple of new apps in it? If yes, chances are that, you were not careful enough while checking the quality parameters and other specs of the mobile applications, before actually downloading them. Be it a free or a paid app, you need to factor in these considerations, prior to selecting it from the online stores:
  1. System requirements - An app has a host of cool, snazzy features - and you take an immediate fancy to it, without considering whether your smartphone has the right system settings for it. The result? The application would not function properly (if it at all works, that is!), and you will have to uninstall it pretty soon. While going through the features of new mobile applications, check their compatibility properties and system requirements too. Make sure you can actually use the apps you choose.

  2. Authenticity - It is not possible in the realm of iPhone app development or anywhere else - but for Android or Blackberry handsets, it is pretty easy to download and set up custom mobile applications (third-party). While this is generally viewed as an advantage, there remains the risk of downloading smartphone apps that have bugs/viruses in them. That's precisely why it is always advisable to choose apps only from the iTunes Store, Blackberry App World, or Google Play Store.

  3. Bandwidth usage - If you do not wish your handset to become painfully slow after installing an application, pay attention to the amount of mobile bandwidth it would take up from beforehand. Apps with high bandwidth requirements place extra pressure on mobile OS, as a result of which device speed suffers. It's not a matter of coincidence that the most popular mobile applications invariably take up very little of the default bandwidth of handsets.

  4. Graphics and general usability features - It does not make any sense to purchase mobile apps with intricate features and properties - which would take quite a time for you to get used to. The whole point about smartphone applications is that they should add value to your phone, from the time they are installed. The app development graphics have to be of the highest order, and getting a hang of its operational features should not take more than a few minutes. Unless an application is user-friendly, it is likely to remain unused.

  5. Too many apps - Speaking of unused smartphone apps, how many of them do you have on your handset? Top experts from iPhone application development companies advise against having too many apps on your phone that are not used regularly. Before you start browsing for new applications at the online stores, get rid of some of the old, redundant ones from your handset. Once again, your phone's battery performance will remain protected.

  6. Availability of upgrades - Once you zero in on the mobile application(s) of your choice, try to find out how frequently its upgrades/later versions would become available. It maybe a personal budget management app, or a simple application for kids - but you do not wish to remain stuck with the same, dated version of it forever. If you wish to download an app that has been launched for the first time (initial version), consider inquiring the representatives of the developer company on this issue.

  7. Integration with phone features - Every mobile application development company comes up with plenty of apps that offer seamless integration with the default features in smartphones (e.g., GPS, camera, audio recorder, etc.). However, you need not take such promises at face value - and should actually ask about how the app of your choice would actually work with your phone tools. Avoid selecting an app that cannot make use of the features already present on a handset.

  8. Will the app work offline as well? - At the time of selecting an app itself, you need to get this query resolved. There are many mobile applications whose functionality gets affected when the network connectivity is not strong enough. Depending on your requirements, you might also require an app that works perfectly well offline too. Go through the description of the app provided at the online store - to be absolutely certain about this issue. Trying to work on an application that require network coverage in an offline environment can be immensely frustrating!

  9. Portability - This is particularly important for paid apps, which come with cross-platform functionalities. Make sure that you know whether the app(s) you have chosen are meant to work on a specific mobile application development platform, or can be used on all platforms with ease. If you are looking for iPhone applications, select the ones that can be used on iPads too.
If a demo version of a new app is available, try that out first - before going for the full, paid version. You will find authentic buyer reviews next to almost every app at the online stores too - take out some time to go through them. Good mobile apps add to the 'smartness' of your smartphone - but you need to be wary of the 'not-so-good' ones!
